About Me

My name is Luisa Reitemeyer and I’m a 24-year-old international exchange student from Germany currently studying at Thompson Rivers University. Over the past four years, I studied International Business and Management at the University of Applied Sciences in Osnabrück, a small city in Germany. Alongside my studies, I gained practical experience working as a student assistant in the marketing department of a bank and in the communication department at my university. With a focus on event management, I recently completed an internship at the Hamburg Exhibition and Congress Center, where I worked as a project assistant for a well-known online marketing festival. After finishing my exchange semester, I plan to return to Hamburg, Germany’s second-largest city, to write my bachelor thesis, complete my degree, and start a career in event management.

I grew up in a small village in the northwest of Germany called Melstrup, where I lived with my parents and my older brother and sister. My brother is an event technician. His enthusiasm for the behind-the-scenes aspects of his job, combined with my own passion for concerts and festivals, has had a significant influence on my decision to explore event management as a career path.

In my free time, I love to stay active, whether it’s going to the gym, running, hiking, practicing yoga or playing tennis. I also have a passion for reading, particularly romance novels, and enjoy listening to podcasts on topics like comedy, interviews, or mental health. In the evenings, I like to relax by watching my favorite series like “Gossip Girl” or “Grey’s Anatomy”.
